Are you a Project Manager looking for a new and interesting challenge located in the heart of the local countryside?
Our client has fantastic vision to create a farm-based events and training business, and they are looking to bring this to life over the forthcoming year.
Offering flexible hours (although this is likely to be part time initially), the *** Centre Project Manager *** opportunity will support a farm diversification project to convert old farm buildings into a mixture of uses including training spaces and meeting rooms as well as a rural venue for events. In time this will also include accommodation.
Our clients’ focus is to promote sustainable local food and farming and give local people the opportunity to reconnect with nature to improve their wellbeing and knowledge. To do this they want to create a dynamic and enthusiastic community of people who can link their activities with the wider countryside and a venue which can deliver training and events.
To get the ball rolling on the events space! Our client is seeking someone to join their team and help convert what is currently a building site and a lot of good ideas, into a fully functioning project.
You will be working in a small team with support from key figures within the organisation. The role will be to:
Scope and Scale
The job is focused on getting the events and venue going but part of the purpose of the Centre is to enable people to link in with the countryside and reconnect with nature so you will need to work as part of the farm team to achieve this.
First year – the set-up year- will include:
After set-up, the role will shift slightly to maintaining high quality events as well as developing new events and further developing relationships with users and potential users. There will the ongoing marketing and promotion as well as operational management to achieve this. You will also work to integrate the users of the venue into the community created by the Centre.
Candidates will ideally have previous Project Management and/or Event Management experience, with exemplary planning, scheduling and budget management exposure. You will have a high level of attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills (with experience of delivering presentations) and tenacity towards developing business. Marketing also comes high up there, with exposure to producing social media content, creating marketing material and managing the website. You must enjoy working in a farm setting but care about sustainability and improving the environment. You must also like helping people to achieve this through creating opportunities for them to grow as individuals and gain knowledge or experience.
Candidates will need their own transport given our clients location and will be happy to work in a part time role initially with future prospects coming together as the centre takes off!
