Our client, a successful and well-established business is seeking a *** Credit Control Assistant *** to join their Accounts team.
Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, this role will be to assist in the credit control administration function for all customers within our client’s organisation, handling of Accounts receivable income and related duties.
KEY TASKS for the Credit Control Assistant:
- Performing the XI PAY/WORLDPAY/SAGE procedures for debit/credit cards payments on a daily basis and processing through SAP.
- Processing of all debit/credit card payments into sap and handling any resulting issues.
- Responsible for the company ‘Cash’ Ledger ensuring payments are made and orders released from holding file within shipment deadlines.
- Perform weekly bank recs and monthly bank control.
- Carry out functions relating to overdue accounts.
- Constant review of the VKM ‘holding’ file to ensure held orders are released timely and within transport deadlines.
- Contacting customers for payment by telephone, email, letter or statement.
- Taking credit/debit card payments through XIPay system.
- Deal with Sales Ledger queries that may arise in the debt collection process. Discuss with the sales team and customer service department to help resolve customer issues and chase up credit notes if necessary to enable payment to be made.
- Initial instructions to the Solicitor in the collection of Bad debts.
- Downloading, printing and sending all month end sales ledger account statements for the business organisations and chasing payments (although the aged debit is on good order)
- Manual invoice posting.
- Responsible for the preparation of Payment Plans, interest charges and monthly monitoring of agreed payments.
- Support to Accounts Administration Assistant as required Credit Control Manager and holiday/absence cover.
- Credit checking and monthly reporting
- Assisting with other account duties if the need arises.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:
- Ability to negotiate with customers
- Good telephone techniques
- Ability to carry out Sales Ledger and CWO roles
- Confidentiality
- Computer literate with Word and Excel knowledge
