Project Design Engineer (AutoCAD & SketchUp) Full Time

Our client, a design led company with a total focus on quality, professionalism and one that is recognised as setting the benchmark in their industry, are seeking a *** Project Design Engineer *** to join their team.
Our client works with some of the worlds most prestigious automotive brands, these include Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes, McLaren, Bugatti, Ferrari as well as a number of Le Mans and F1 teams. They have won the prestigious International Red Dot Design Award as well as the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
The role will focus heavily on the design and planning of residential and commercial property interiors, including creating 2D and photo realistic 3D rendered proposal documents.
The Project Design Engineer will have strong AutoCAD skills/experience, which will be used daily and with keen eye for detail, alongside good organisational skills suitable for the role. Though it is not essential, we would prefer the candidate to have previous experience with SketchUp and experience with 3D modelling and visualisation software.
Our clients’ reach is wide and can include dealing with projects as far afield as Japan and Australia as well as closer to home. - Receiving and interpreting briefs from the sales team or our clients’ distributors worldwide and preparation of plans and estimates based thereon.
- Interface with our customers on the development of projects, design modifications and costings updates.
- Production of 2D AutoCAD layouts for submission to clients worldwide.
- Production of project costings using a CRM package
- Production of presentations in 3D to support sales proposals.
- Liaison with our client’s factory on product development, production issues and project delivery times.
- Issuing instructions to our factory for production of orders and discussing any special product requirements.
- Liaising with our customers on project delivery times and installation schedule.
- Trouble shooting on live installations to solve short term technical issues.
The Project Design Engineer position is a wide and varied role requiring both technical and excellent interpersonal skills.
