Our client’s tunnel is not just a testing ground; it's a place where your work contributes directly to the automotive industry's future. Make a Mark: Help support projects that matter. From safety protocols to environmental compliance, your role is key in helping to shape the testing world. Leading the establishment and maintenance of on-site capabilities, resources and procedures required to service customer requirements and steadily improve the Catesby Tunnel facility, your responsibilities will include:
- Identify and produce safety and operational procedures for commercial testing, workshop testing and maintenance activities.
- Identify key equipment and resources required for commercial testing and site maintenance.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure all resources are agreed in advance and provided for vehicle tests.
- Supervise vehicle tests, particularly regarding customer and staff compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Support commercial visits from potential and existing customers.
- Input into general improvement plan and assist with development of ongoing site maintenance plan.
- Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and be a strong leader on general site tidiness/look and feel of the facility.
- Engage with external agencies as required (eg NFRS, VCA, HSE, NE etc).
- Work closely with ecologist to ensure compliance with Natural England ecology licence.
The Tunnel Manager will have:
- Understanding and experience of a Health and Safety compliant culture and creating risk assessments associated with vehicle testing and other activities.
- Ideally you will have experience in managing a testing facility, staff and technicians.
- You will be a self-starter, with a desire to want to help develop a new facility.
- You will be a good communicator, as you will interact with all customers, directors, tunnel staff and others.
- You will need to be hands on where necessary, with a good foundation in engineering principles.
- Experience in customer facing roles an advantage.
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft office for finances, report writing etc.
This opportunity could be well suited to someone with Fire and Rescue experience, together with management exposure.
