Stock Controller Opportunity within a Growing Business!

  • Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum, normal working days (8am start) with an early finish on Fridays.
  • Reports To: Operations / Production & Finance Managers

 

About the Stock Controller Role:

 

Our client, a key player in a niche manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a diligent *** Stock Controller *** to join their team. 

This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of stock-related activities within the business.

Stock Controller Responsibilities:

 

  • Goods In: Ensure items received match items ordered and have the correct delivery and compliance paperwork.  Book received items into stock and store them in specified, maintained locations.  Quarantine non-compliant goods and liaise with Purchasing and QA to resolve.  Ensure excess stock left over from works orders is booked back into stock or scrapped as appropriate, seeking management guidance as required.
  • Picking and Kitting: Accurately kit jobs for works orders in a timely manner once stock is available or as directed by operations management.  Kit from stores. Create kit box (‘wind tunnel’), warehouse and line-side Kanbam.
  • Maintaining Kanban/Minimum Level Stock: Maintain minimum stock levels, including consumable parts.  Work with Purchasing to monitor and set levels for minimum stock (e.g., plastics) and consumable (e.g., pillars) parts.
  • Stock Checking: Manage and control stock counting and inventory accuracy checks, including cycle stock checks.
  • Goods Out / Despatch: Arrange the timely despatch of finished goods as requested by sales, operations, or Clarity reports.

 

General Stock Controller Duties:

 

  • Ensure that all stock areas are tidy, well-organised, and controlled.
  • Ensure company processes and procedures are followed.
  • Check pallet racking for safety.
  • Assist QA and Purchasing in creating and following ISO9001 & ISO14001 processes.
  • Undertake specific projects and tasks as required.
  • Perform any other relevant and reasonable duties requested by management.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

 

  • Inventory Accuracy
  • Goods In Processed within 24 Hours
  • Goods Dispatched OTIF (99%)

 

Stock Controller Skills and Experience:

 

  • Warehouse/stock control experience required.
  • Forklift experience is desired/preferred, but not essential.
  • Basic PC skills and understanding of stock flow management.
  • Basic numeracy.
  • Good written and spoken English language skills.
